Inspect Your Costume Before Leaving

Customers are encouraged to inspect all costumes and accessories before leaving the store.

Please ensure that:

  • the costume fits correctly
  • all accessories listed on the invoice are included
  • the costume meets your expectations

Once hired items leave the store, hire fees are non-refundable.

 

Handle Costumes With Care

Costumes are delicate garments and should be handled with care.

Please avoid activities that may damage the costume, including:

  • rough physical activity
  • contact with sharp objects
  • exposure to mud or dirt
  • contact with oils, lotions or strong perfumes

 

Avoid Makeup Contact With Costumes

Makeup and cosmetic products can stain costume fabrics.

Please take care when applying makeup to avoid contact with costume materials.

Costumes returned with heavy makeup stains may incur additional cleaning charges.

 

Avoid Certain Substances

To protect costumes from permanent damage, please do not use costumes with the following substances:

  • glitter
  • body paint
  • coloured powder
  • fake blood
  • spray paint
  • strong adhesives

Damage caused by these substances may result in replacement charges.

 

Do Not Wash or Alter Costumes

Please do not attempt to wash, dry-clean, alter or repair hired costumes.

Our team will handle all cleaning and maintenance.

Attempting to clean or alter costumes may cause damage and additional charges may apply.

 

Accessories Must Be Returned

Accessories form part of the costume hire and must be returned with the costume.

These may include items such as:

  • hats
  • belts
  • capes
  • props
  • jewellery
  • gloves

Missing accessories may result in replacement charges.

 

Return Costumes On Time

Costumes must be returned on or before the agreed return date.

Late returns may incur additional hire charges.

 

If There Is a Problem

If a costume becomes damaged during the hire period, please contact Masquerade as soon as possible so we can assist.
